What’s in a name?

The Sanskrit root word for ‘Yoga’ is yuj, means to unite or join. It involves collecting all the separate pieces of our little selves back together into a whole and complete being.

Routes of Yoga signifies this journey from the Multiple towards Singularity and it sets the tone for our approach and way of teaching.

Observe the foot of a mountain in comparison to its peak. Being much wider at its base therein lies many possible paths up to its summit. Prematurely deciding on one fixed way may be a cause of struggle and division in itself. Unexpected roadblocks occur – which way do you navigate then?

Routes of Yoga is a call to cultivating an aware and compassionate manner. Grounded In an acceptance of the one as well as the many.

Our programs are rooted in the ancient teachings of yoga. This vast science offers a diverse range of effective tools (routes) beneficial to all types of personalities and stages of life.

We strive to present the teachings in a clear and concise way for it to be easily accessible to the modern practitioner.  Theory and practice are weaved together with the intention to support a genuine and holistic understanding, comprehended by the mind and experienced through the body.

Routes of Yoga is a Registered Yoga School (RYS) with the Yoga Alliance US.

Yoga Pilgrimage Retreat in Nepal

Nourish your body and calm your mind in hand picked destinations conducive to going within and tuning down to a slower pace of being.

Each retreat works around the unique offerings of the individual destination.Focus on both your yoga practice and the opportunity to engage with inspiring places and people.

Additional to yoga classes, ample time is provided to explore, relax, rejuvenate, and enjoy an exciting palette of healthy cuisine.

These are intensive courses for practitioners who want to take their practice to the next level.

Workshops go in depth into one or more focus areas, and with course material continuously built up over a number of days. The structure of these programs allow participants to refine their practice while diving into a particular subject matter.

ROY's comprehensive training programs are an opportunity to dive deep into the study and practice of yoga. Cultivate the skills necessary to share the practice of yoga to others with clarity, confidence and compassion.

These are two ways to train with us, through a Residential or Non-Residential (course-only) training program. A harmonious accomodation setting is coupled with ROY's Yoga Teacher Training programs for Residential TTCs. Students study and live together as a community during their training course. Non-Residential TTCs offer the freedom and flexibility to choose from your own accomodation budget and preferences.

We believe in creating mutual interactions with the places and people we work with. Each ROY course is tied to a specific give-back initiative.

ROY's Yoga Teacher Training Scholarship awards and trains outstanding yoga practitioners into the role of teacher and leader within their communities. This initiative is ROY's tribute to providing a regular and stable stream of yoga to the underserved pockets of society.
