Integrating asana practice with yoga philosophy - a weekend of conscious movement, great literature & an enquiring mind.

The path of yoga – living an authentic life that honours both our current condition and a path that brings out our greatest gifts through repetitive effort is by definition a challenge. The Bhagavad Gita, a deeply profound and key philosophical text is the base from which we will venture into themed asana classes, contemplation and discussion. Said to embody the sweet nectar of all the great Upanishads in one unifying story, becoming friends with the practical wisdom of the Gita is a gateway to becoming friends with yourself. Discover why this profound text is revered by many of the greats worldwide from Gandhi to psychotherapist Carl Jung.

“In the morning I bathe my intellect in the stupendous and cosmogonal philosophy of the Bhagavad Gita in comparison with which our modern world and its literature seem puny and trivial.” Henry David Thoreau

The weekend begins with storytelling, we get an overview of the Gita and understand its unique context. Subsequent lectures focus on individual topics like Karma Yoga, Jana Yoga, Bhakti Yoga. Through open discussion and themed asana classes, the relevance of the Gita’s profound teachings in the context of our lives come alive.
